When people ask how much Odoo costs, they usually mean the licence. In an SME, though, the licence is only part of it: the real cost depends on how much needs to be configured, migrated and connected for the ERP to work the way you do.
There is no catalogue price that fits everyone, but there are clear factors that drive the budget. Knowing them helps you compare proposals properly.
1. Edition and licences
Odoo Community is the open-source edition with no licence cost. Odoo Enterprise is Odoo's licensed edition, with more features, paid per user on the plan you take out directly with Odoo.
Which one you need depends on the modules. Many SMEs start well on Community; others need features that only Enterprise has.
2. Hosting
Odoo can run in its cloud (Odoo Online), on its platform for projects with custom code (Odoo.sh) or on your own server. Odoo Online does not accept custom-built modules, so if your implementation needs them it is worth knowing from the start.
Hosting has its own monthly cost, separate from the implementation work.
3. Scope of the implementation
This is what varies most between projects:
- ✓Number of modules: invoicing and accounting is not the same as adding inventory, purchasing, manufacturing and projects.
- ✓Data migration: customers, suppliers, products, stock and history from your previous system, reviewed and deduplicated.
- ✓Customisation: fields, reports, approval flows or custom modules for your own processes.
- ✓Integrations: online store, external CRM, payment gateways or bank.
- ✓Training and support after go-live.

To give a real figure we need to know your project in detail, but as a reference a basic Odoo implementation (a few modules, simple migration and training) starts from €1,490 (plus VAT where applicable). Enterprise licences and hosting, if you need them, are separate.
